Town of WinchesterLocated in the county of Hampshire is the 13th Century city of Winchester, previously the old Capital of England, approximately 25 minutes from Southampton. Steeped in Tudor and Stuart history, the first sight of Winchester is the statue of King Alfred. Customers may then visit Winchester Cathedral and in its surrounding areas the extensive ruins of Wolvesley Castle also known as Old Bishop’s Palace, the iconic Round Table of Arthurian legend, Winchester Military Museum, West Gate Museum, Winchester City Mill and Shop, Winchester city centre with a variety of shops and amenities, some located in historic period buildings. Additionally, customers may visit Avington Park which was originally mentioned in the Doomsday Book and described by William Cobbett as the prettiest place in the country. Customers can expect to be in Winchester approximately 3 hours. The driver will arrange a drop off and pick up point to return to Southampton/Cruise Ship Terminal. The duration of this tour including travelling is approximately 4 hours. The cost of this tour is £25.00 per person based on a minimum of 4 persons. Advanced bookings are required if your drop off or collection is outside the times of 8am to 8pm; or your trip extends futher than a 50mile radius of Southampton.
